If you’re going to do something do it in style!
So, I had 150 cupcakes to bake yesterday and thought that if I’m going to be stuck in the house all day then why not make the most of it! I love everything 1950’s including the fashion, make up, style and dare I say it ‘housewife’ness’ (…bring on the PC brigade!) A full day of baking should be seen as a good day – its productive and makes everyone smile – honestly!
Out came the red lippy and 1950’s dress!
Minimum make up meant using the usual Benefit Porefessional then a quick cover of Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid in shade 21- Nude, which gives a perfect coverage even if it is a little dark for my skin ( I think I need a shade lighter!) First play with my new Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara and the jury is out at the minute, as much as I love it for being jet black it just didn’t seem to do much for the length compared to other similar marketed mascaras!
Blush was Soap & Glory Love at First Blush – I really can’t get enough of this, it highlights and colours at the same time and I really think this is in my top 5 beauty buys of all time! Lips were outlined with Mac Cherry lip liner and filled with the new Max Factor Marilyn Cabernet lipstick! These lipsticks are divine – seriously creamy and all the reds you can imagine Marilyn Monroe wearing. There are 4 shades, Berry, Cabernet, Ruby Red and Sunset Red. I was sent this one to trial and it turned out to be the perfect red for my colouring….I am dying to try the others though so have added them to my wishlist!
When I was finally done we had 168 cupcakes in Nutella, lemon and strawberry ready for the first fair of the season which just happens to be Mothers Day! I hope you are all having a lovely day and being spoiled rotten – let me know what you are up to!
Happy Mothers Day!!
XOXO
Debbie

This looks like so much fun and those cup cakes look delicious! Love the vintage look.
