Halloween is over and Christmas seems to have sprung up everywhere! The shops are buzzing with foods and gift ideas, the street lights are being put up and you can bet it won’t be long before we hear the jingle of Christmas songs in shops as we set about prep for the big day!
Having a large family and lots of work to do before Santa arrives means that almost every day between now and December the 25th there will be something I need to focus on to make sure the holidays go smoothly and without hitch. Contact Numbers UK have launched the #OneLessWorry Campaign to help take some of the stress away from us this year and I for one welcome it with open arms. Here are a few of my top tips for making sure the festive season stays jolly!
Shop all year round!
Shop in the sales, keep an eye out for end of line bargains and special offers throughout the year. No one will know you bought it in the January sales with a 75% discount and just think of the amount you could save if you aren’t pulling out hard earned cash on last minute panic buys!
Try to make it a family affair!
Get together over the festive season and share the bills. Why not arrange dinner at one house and everyone bring one dish? Someone cooks the turkey, someone else brings pigs in blankets, someone else dessert – and so on. This cuts down food costs and gets everyone around the table, surely this is what Christmas is meant to be about too!
Family time and the season of sharing! Go one further and organise a secret Santa between everyone, this means only buying one present and saving a fortune on random smellies that you just know are heading to the charity shop come January!
Remember the highstreet!
Lets show the highstreet we still love it this year! Head out and see the lights, watch the snow fall while mingling with other shoppers, everyone seems happier at Christmas and I for one love seeing what everyone else is buying too. There is nothing nicer than heading out to see what the local department stores have created in their Christmas windows too. Of course some items need to be purchased online but do you really want to be running round at the last minute because the parcel went MIA!? Ring and reserve at local stores too – all you need to do then is call in and pick up your order. It’s a good excuse to indulge in some hot chocolate too!
POST EARLY!
I fall foul of this every year! Before I know it i have missed deadlines and have a last minute panic of whether or not gifts will arrive on time. Bookmark this and keep track …
Contact Numbers UK have a vast directory of customer service numbers such as the John Lewis contact number who you can speak to about gift wrapping, gift receipts, extended returns policies, store collections, designated delivery and so much more to take the stress out of Christmas!
