We usually end up with an abundance of eggs, so many that the girls either make themselves sick within a couple of days or they sit there for weeks taunting us with their chocolate deliciousness! Each year I try to get the girls something other than eggs as they really do get so many, even little treats like a new book or puzzle go down well as its something a little different and to be honest they don’t make eggs like they use to.
I loved getting the ones with the bunny prints on and sweets inside – now all the candy is in little bags outside of the eggs, spoilsports!
We have put together a list of some great gifts that would make fab alternative to chocolate this Easter…
Everyone loves a cuddly bunny and what would be cuter for Easter than this little zip up carrot hiding a mini rabbit! Suitable for all ages and you don’t know what colour rabbit you will get until the carrot is unzipped! An ideal little treat for any animal lover from Born Gifted. RRP: £6.99
Boiled eggs are a one of our favourite breakfasts year round and these super cute dinosaur egg holders are perfect for any little dino fan! Made in a quirky origami style, they ooze character and are such cute vibrant colours that they would make any meal a perfect time for soft boiled eggs and soldiers! Available from Red Candy and either T-Red, Triceratops or Diplodocus. RRP: £8.00 each.
As the weather is still a little on the chilly side right now I have skipped the cute t-shirt and shorts sets and gone straight in for some cute and funky accessories to keep you warm until Spring appears! This bright hat and snood set from Buffwear are a great little set to keep the kids warm when trying to get outdoors between rain showers! We are huge fans of Buff as their pieces are extremely well made and super warm, I am still wearing my thick woolly Winter hat and scarf set! RRP: £25.25
As the nights are starting to get lighter you can guarantee that the little ones will be wanting to play out on their scooters and bikes etc. Amelia is getting her first bike for her birthday in May and I am conscious of the safety aspect – she is such a rough and tumble kid that she is bound to crash at some point or go over the handlebars! Mini Hornit LIDS are a fabulous new style safety helmet that has an integrated LED light! Available in lots of funky designs and fully adjustable these are the ultimate in safe fashion! RRP: £29.99
Everyone loves a bedtime story but how many of us have one designed around our names! Penwizard have designed a personalised book where Peppa and George head off on an adventure to find clues which lead them to a play date with your child. In Amelias book they found a treasure map that took them around Granny and Grandpas to find Apples, Map, Eggs, Ladybirds etc to spell out her name. She loved recognising the letters in her name and was even more surprised when there was a little red headed Amelia at the end of the story! RRP: £17.49
Continuing along the personalised theme, my girls are huge stationery lovers like their mother! These beautiful paper pads and pencils would make a great gift for anyone who loves to write or colour in. The Born to Ride Unicorns book can be lined or unlined and personalised how you wish. RRP: £9.99 As well as personalised glitter writing pencils there are also Personalised Colouring Pencils RRP: £5.99
Since I am trying to lose another 2 stone I am putting a ban on chocolate for me and going to opt for more of a treat than a calorie intake so have detailed a couple of things below that I would be more than happy to receive this Easter too!
If every in doubt buy wine! It is the gift that keeps on giving…especially once the kids are in bed and the place is quiet. I have to admit that I haven’t been drinking much lately but still love a nice glass of something pink and fizzy so this beautiful bottle of Pink Pino Grigio would go down a treat! RRP: £6.99 from all good stockists.
Everyone knows that my default gift is a candle! I tend to head straight to the home decor departments in shops and even supermarkets just to check out the candles or smellies! It takes something special for me to order online but I think I have found my ultimate scent in this gorgeous Rhubarb and Raspberry Bee Fayre candle made with 100% natural plant wax. The scent is evocative of my grandads allotment with its tang of rhubarb and sweetness of the raspberry. A delicious warm smell of summer nights! RRP: £18.00
What are you hoping for this Easter – a mountain of chocolate or something a little different? Do you create an Easter basket for your little ones or are you over all the fuss?
XOXO
Debbie

Ohhh the bunny popping out of the carrot is just so adorable my daughter would love that – lovely selection of alternative gifts here.
Fab post! Love that it’s not all about chocolate. I especially love the egg cups – my LO is too small for them, but I have a friend that love dinosaurs so I think I will get them for her as gift! Thanks for the suggestion.
Love your list, especially the scented candle. Would love to give my daughter an alternative Easter present apart from chocolates but I’m afraid my husband has put his foot down. He says it’s all about the Easter chocs. Sigh.
Oh my goodness, those zipped carrot plush toys are adorable, I want those for the kids (but for me really!).
These are some awesome alternative Easter ideas. I am loving that egg holder it is so much fun!
The dinosaur egg holder is fab! My son would love it. I would much rather my children have some non-chocolate gifts at Easter rather than a chocolate overload!
Its a tricky one Easter gifts, i would rather not fill them with masses of chocolate but am the same time I don’t want to take the fun out of it. I remember being so excited about my Easter eggs.
Love these. Really there are so many great blog posts about alternative gift ideas other than chocolate ! The bunny and the carrot is far too cute ! My sister dropped off the kids Easter gifts today ,bless her , new outfits each and an egg , she’s been doing it for years , well ahead of her time ?
