On Friday we received notification that we were being moved from a 1 month contract to a 2 year contract which made us all heave a sigh of relief as this is the first place we have really felt settled, felt like this is our home.
The children have all fit in well and are thriving at school, Amelia even has a friend we have play dates with, which she never has before! We have made real life grown up friends too, not just neighbours or acquaintances but people who we go out for meals with, have round to each others houses and share quality time with! The fact they have children all the same ages as ours is just a total bonus and sign it was all meant to be!
I am super excited because getting the go ahead with the contract means we can now make a few cosmetic changes too with the garden, planting and growing veg etc, to start with we took to cleaning the patio with vigor! Years of growth between the bricks has built up and despite me spending a good full week in early July trying to clean them I must have managed around 6ft x 6ft, I did however have blisters and sunburn to show for it!
Both myself and Scott took to wire brushing between the cracks, jet washing the remnants and then dry brushing the moss away, it took us two full days but it worked and we now have a driveway that looks brand new!
We are hoping that the weeds don’t make an appearance soon as Amelia is loving being able to run around barefoot!
Having finished this mammoth task I am looking forward to starting with some plants and troughs etc. I particularly love the filled tin bath on BBCs Love Your Garden which was filled with flowers and fake bubbles so I think that will take centre stage!
XOXO
Debbie
