You may have noticed a change in the title today – well not only do we have a fabulous talented bunch of bakers and cooks among us bloggers but we also have a mass of super clever crafters too and what better way to kick off Valentines day than with something I love! I thought that the talented crafters deserved to be showcased too so I sent out a bunch of questions to find out exactly how they got started and to share a little of their crafting insights with us.
We start off with the ever fabulous Jenny from:
Tell us a little about you and your blog.
My name is Jenny and I started blogging back in 2005. My blog has evolved since I started it, at first I wrote about the things I made. Now I write about my family, days out and our craft projects. When I have the time I love sewing and paper cutting.
Have you always crafted or is it something you started when blogging – which came first?
I’ve always crafted for as long as I can remember. I discovered American craft blogs in about 2000 and was eventually inspired to start my own. I love reading about what other people were making and it has led me to try so many different crafts.
If you had an entire day to yourself what would you make?
That’s tricky as I have so many half-started projects I would love to finish! It would have to be the Shipping Forecast quilt I started…. I’m really hoping to finish it this year and give it to my husband. Pre-children we both used to love lying awake to hear the Shipping Forecast so when I discovered a quilt pattern by Janet Clare I knew I had to make it.
If you could only pack 3 craft items for a weekend away what would you take?
A small embroidery project, my craft knife and latest paper cut, and something to keep the kids occupied as they love to craft too.
What is your most prized make?
I made my daughter a rainbow Liberty quilt which I just adore. It was actually a pre-cut pack I bought at a craft fair and it’s gorgeous. I used left over pieces of fabric to hide small stitched shapes on each stripe for her to find. I’m secretly hoping she’ll give it back to me one day.
Do you sell any of your makes or are they purely for you?
I only make for my family or friends. I used to think about selling things via Etsy but never got round to it.
Who is your crafting icon?
That’s a tough one as there are so many people who inspire me. I love Jane Foster (https://www.janefoster.co.uk/) due to her simple but bold designs.
Where else can we find you and your crafts?
I share my makes over on my blog and on Instagram too. I have a neglected Etsy shop where I sell craft supplies and it’s my goal this year to get it all re-stocked.

Being a lover of any craft I thoroughly enjoyed a peek into the life of a quilter and paper cutter – the patience of a saint! lol Probably why I don’t do either!
Lots more in our craft series to come too!
XOXO
