Recently I was invited down to London to learn how to decorate a house cake with the help of L and C Mortgages and Cookery School, that was the brief and I was a little unsure of what to expect – all i knew is London and cake in one sentence had me agreeing to go for the day!
If you havent seen it yet check out the L and C advert below which explains how getting a mortgage with them is a piece of cake, (things starting to make sense?) Our mission for the day was to team into pairs (I was paired up with Jess, an L & C customer and doctor) to create our own cake/house from scratch….
…with a winner chosen at the end! Oh the pressure – this suddenly got serious! lol
We were talked through the health and safety of Cookery School by the fabulous teachers and given all of the ingredients to bake our cakes. While they were baking we had a chance to chat to some fellow bloggers and also design what we wanted our house to look like, I have to admit i had an image from the start and was unsure if Jess would go for it but she was such a gem and gave me free reign to go all girly! lol
Our pink princess castle soon started to take shape and with a lot of fearful glances around the room at all of the fabulous cottages, toadstool homes and the inspiration oozing from every corner of the kitchen we stuck our heads down and got out the lusture dust and sprinkles!
The stars aligned and our pink princess castle only went and won!
After the winning announcement we all got the chance to indulge in some prosecco and chat together which doesnt happen very often as we are all spread around the UK, the ladies from L and C were amazing and very friendly too which is what we are not use to when you think of something as scary as sorting a mortgage… maybe getting a mortgage from L and C really is a #PieceofCake!
I was compensated for my time involved in taking part in this project.
