If your children are anything like mine then they love a good American style novelty food maker. We have a popcorn maker, candyfloss machine, chocolate fountain and now an American Style Hot Dog Maker!
We were kindly sent the hot dog maker to review and after using it with typical UK hot dogs (those that come in a jar or packet) we soon realised that we had to up our game and go totally American! Their hot dogs are usually giant sausages and once we made the switch it worked so well i really don’t think we would use anything else now! UK hot dogs tend to not have enough fat in them and blister over the heated rollers, which we found out!
All you need to do is pop the (fatty) sausages onto the rotating rollers at the top of the machine, these will then rotate and cook throughout. This also means that any excess fat drips down onto the tray resulting in less calories and healthier sausages too! The buns slot into the mini oven underneath, you can fit 4 standard UK hotdog buns in while still being able to close the door. You then end up with perfectly cooked sausages and warmed through, toasted buns which makes all the difference to an authentic style American Hot Dog! Cooking up to 4 sausages at a time this is not something that we could use for a whole family meal where we all eat at once but the kids love it and its great to have them feel like they have made their own tea (obviously with a little help as it does get very hot!)
Here is your chance to win one of these fabulous little machines. All you need to do is follow the Gleam directions on the competition site below. Terms and conditions are at the bottom of the page.
